Basic Troubleshooting

There are few key areas that account for many of the Support issues we’ve seen. If you’re experiencing an issue or possible bug, please review the following FIRST.

NOTE: As a best practice we recommend backing up your site before making any changes. For a simple and affordable, backup option we like ManageWP.

Check your Theme Version

Your issue may have been resolved in a recent update. While the theme will automatically update most of the time, occasionally something may interfere with the autoupdate process. The latest version of the them can be found on this page. If you are running anything previous, we recommend manually updating your theme by following these steps: Clean Install Acabado.

Clear Previous Theme Versions

Double check that a previous version was completely deleted when updating to a newer version. Remaining old version files can cause lingering issues with the theme. Check for previous versions and remove them by following this tutorial: Delete Duplicate Installs.

Clear Your Cache

A cache is a temporary data store. Most web browsers cache webpage data to allow for faster loading times. Your browser could be displaying a cached view even though you’ve made changes to your site.

Additionally, some hosts cache website data. This may include theme files. Check with your host or review your cPanel to clear any cached theme data that is no longer active.

Check for Plugin Interactions

90% of the time an issue is caused by incompatible plugins. With thousands of plugins available it is impossible to test Acabado with every one. Try disabling all plugins and clearing your cache. If the issue resolves, then enable your plugins one by one until you find the conflict.
